FESYO Newsletter – November 2008

Dear Friends,

We are organising a 30th Birthday concert followed by a reunion party to celebrate the milestone achieved by East Sussex Youth Orchestra, the valuable education of young musicians in Sussex and the fond memories of our times in the Orchestra and as Friends.

Our big day is Saturday 25 July 2009 at De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill. The 30th Birthday concert will take place at 6 pm followed by a reunion party. We would love to have a distinguished young player as a soloist and for all our past players to perform at the reunion party.

We want you all to come. The aim is to reunite everyone who has ever been involved with ESYO - players, parents, teachers, friends, committee members – from the 1979 to the present. We know it is a very ambitious goal but we want everyone to be involved.

We have absolutely no idea how many people will participate, either as players or partygoers. This is why we are requesting as many people as possible to book and pay up front so that we cater for the right number. We estimate a cost per head of £17 concessions £13 (concert only £10 concessions £6). This will include the concert ticket, venue hire and food and drinks at the post-concert party. Tickets are available from De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill (tel:01424 229111).

All large venues require payment in advance, which is why we are asking for payment in full at this early stage. Please note that any surplus cash, if any, would be used to develop the musical talents of the young players and to extend the range of the Orchestra’s activities.
